Valentine’s Day is just a week away. When it comes to gifts, I tend to prefer practical over romantic, and something for my horse habit is always appreciated. Here are eight Valentine’s Day gift ideas for the equestrian in your life.
Hay
This is the least romantic gift on my list, but something I always need and always appreciate. My husband brought me a load of hay for me for Mother’s Day 2017, and it is a gift that I will never forget. He is not a horse person, so this was extra touching. Call a hay supplier and fill your equestrian’s barn. Custom Halter and Lead Set If the equestrian in your life has a horse, she needs a halter. A new halter and lead falls in the “practical” category just behind hay, but having one custom made for her in a color she loves, and combined with a custom lead and new reins makes a lovely gift that shows that even if you are not a horse person yourself, you at least pay attention enough to know her horse’s favorite color. Ridge Creek Tack sells the perfect set for a Valentine’s Day gift, and they will custom make it for your equestrian. You choose the color, the halter style, lead length, and other details. This is a small American company that makes high-quality products at very reasonable prices. Order your custom, one-of-a-kind set HERE and use code HPA102019 for 10 percent off your order.
Breastcollar and Bridle Set
If your equestrian loves the bling, they will appreciate a sparkly new bridle and breastcollar set. Last year I gave away a stunning Showman tack set, and I had over 600 entrants. These are stunning in person and will look amazing on your equestrian’s horse. Buy your Showman tack set HERE. Fitness Tracker The year is young, and chances are your equestrian set some fitness goals for 2019. A fitness tracker will help them track their progress, inspire them, and remind them how far they have come on their fitness journey. Choose one with a heart rate monitor. I love my Fitbit Versa because I can download songs right to it so I do not have to carry my smartphone with me while I ride. It also gives me my heart rate and tracks how well I sleep. It has held up to the rigors of equestrian life, so I highly recommend it. Buy Fitbit Versa HERE.
Horse-Themed Necklace or Earrings
Most days, I wear barn clothes. On the rare occasion that I get to wear my “go to town” clothes, I love to accessorize with horse-themed jewelry. Necklaces and earrings are my go-to accessories, and I always look for quality pieces that will last if I forget to take them off before I start my next round of chores. Buy the horse necklace HERE. Buy the earrings HERE. Hoodie Every equestrian needs a good hoodie. Mornings at the barn will be cold for several more months, and this is a practical but thoughtful gift. Buy a horse-themed hoodie HERE. Custom Picture Frame I have pictures of all of my horses – those I have owned, and many school horses from my childhood that I loved. I find places to display these pictures all around my house because they bring back good memories. Find a picture of your equestrian with their horse and have a custom frame made for it. Buy a custom frame HERE. Gift Card If you know your equestrian loves horses but you have no idea what to get them, a gift card is always the right size and color. State Line Tack sells a variety of horse items, and your equestrian is sure to find something they love. Click the image below to get your gift card. StateLineTack.com Gift Certificates [More]

I rarely give my horses treats so I never think to add them to the list. Some companies make amazing, unique homemade horse treats. I may have to find some good ones to share.
